Tracing Vanity Fair, or VF, to its earliest days takes one back to 1899, well over 100+ years ago. The company began as the Reading Glove and Mitten Manufacturing Company in Reading, PA. This helped to make VF Corporation the largest apparel company that was publically held.

In 2007 the company was then bought by underwear giant Fruit of the Loom. Within a month VF Corporation had also acquired Majestic Athletic. Later the same year an impressive move came when the announcement was made that the corporation had acquired both Seven for All Mankind and Lucy Activewear. From there, growth continued with the 2011 purchase of Timberland for an astounding $2.2 billion.
